The Good Truck is not really a truck at all, but a 7×17 V-nose trailer with a kitchen inside. For the last three summers this little outfit has been satiating Ithaca area customers with a new version of hot truck fare. The Good Truck cuisine has been given many designations, from gourmet hot truck, and Ithaca-Mex, to locavore-fusion. Some just call it The Taco Truck. What ever the classification, when you look at our menu you see that it is locally driven, seasonal food with definite Mexican flare.
Established by friends Mandy Beem-Miller + Lily Aceto in the fall of 2010, the vision was for The Good Truck was simple; a fast food setting with a slow food attitude. After years of working in various cooking, farming+ restaurant gigs the world around, the two came together in their native Ithaca area to create the local foods driven taco wagon. Inspired by many of their previous jobs, their collective love for enjoying a good meal, and the bounty of incredible local food producers in the area, The Good Truck was born. Knowing that fresh seasonal food simply tastes better is part of the equation, but it doesn’t hurt that eating local also benefits the body, the community and the planet. In fact it makes it that much better. Just about everything The Good Truck serves is home made, from scratch, everyday, no malarky.
